Hammock Hollow

Coyle & Caron led the Hammock Hollow portion of the Bok Tower Gardens projects, a four-year collaboration with Nelson Byrd Woltz.

Hammock Hollow is a series of places inspired by Central Florida’s unique ecologies where kids can learn and create through play. A ‘limestone’ ledge provides opportunities for climbing, with a ‘river run’ water play area nearby. Along a meandering path, children are inspired to play music, pick blueberries, build, create art, and play in a child-size authentic Chickee. Each setting encourages discovery, creative play and ‘hands-on’ fun while building confidence, independence and fostering a sense of environmental stewardship.
