Ivey Lane Park

Orlando, Florida

Ivey Lane Park sits adjacent to an elementary school in an underserved neighborhood in Orlando. The park includes a community center that offers summer programs and after school care for many of these students.

Coyle & Caron led this pro-bono park revitalization design under the City of Orlando’s GreenUp Program, in collaboration with the City of Orlando Stormwater Division, and with input from the Ivey Lane Community Center Manager. Our shared goal was to increase the site’s offerings for its primary stakeholders, children 5-14 years old, as well as update the park for community members of all ages.

Our designs included: stormwater management; installation of a demonstration raingarden; wetland buffer plantings to improve absorption and treatment; increased shade in play areas; modifications and re-design of an underused amphitheater; pollinator plantings, and a community food garden plot.

Through donations from NFL Green’s Environmental Program and Verizon, volunteers came together during Pro Bowl Week for planting and installations.
