Coyle & Caron teamed with Quist Design Works and their corporate client to expand outdoor experiences for their tenants. A designated place for food trucks was integrated into the existing campus along with gathering spaces for eating, playing games, and outdoor meetings. The desire to create distinct places within lush plantings, set apart from the food trucks and office buildings, inspired the concept of a garden ‘oasis.’ Gathering areas were strategically located to take advantage of shade and cooling from mature oak trees. A layered plant palette including natives, nativars and subtropicals, creates a resilient garden with low water demand that is attractive to wildlife.
