third cliff GARDENS

This home overlooks a tributary to the North River Scenic Waterway near its mouth to the Atlantic. With shifting family priorities and the need to improve an aging house, Coyle & Caron collaborated with Sarah Lalone Interior Architect to design multiple site interventions and changes to structures while remaining attune to the environmentally sensitive site. The sloping site was terraced to maximize use areas closest to the house and road allowing lawn area on the marsh side to be restored to a wetland buffer. Exotic invasives were mechanically removed and replaced with upland species. A prefabricated shed was customized for kayak and canoe storage and detailed to meet Scenic Waterway aesthetic requirements

Collaborators include: Sarah Lalone Interior Design, CM Stoneworks, Northern Oak Landscape, and Rocks to Roots.
