Sally Coyle, working with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates led an interdisciplinary team in the development of the 1998 Landscape Master Plan for this 700-acre campus. The master plan included a remediation plan for the existing Paint Shop Factory site that allowed for the redevelopment and expansion of the campus athletic complex. Other elements of the master plan included the relocation of parking from low-lying areas, traffic/safety issues, building expansion, lighting, landscape restoration and maintenance, campus identity and arrival. Sally was responsible for consultant/client coordination, interviews with faculty and staff to determine the program, and analysis/programming for adjacent parcels.
This project was ultimately awarded the American Society of Landscape Architects 1999
Planning and Analysis Merit Award.
